My desk space

I'm finally happy with my desk space. I try to keep to a theme. I love white walls (and if you have been to my house you would pick that up pretty easy).

Giveaway

I've just reached 500 GFC Followers this week, so I thought I would do a Giveaway as a little thank you. I was a little un-sure on what to give away...

Stella

I previously mentioned in this post that I purchased 'Stella by Stella McCartney' in a box set in the Boots sale. I've been meaning to get this perfume ever since I smelt it - which I think could possibly be a good few years ago now...

New in: Newlook wedge boots

I've been wanting to purchase these boots from Newlook but since going back to my local store to purchase them they have only had size 6's which my big feet will not squeeze into. Whilst having a look for them I saw these wedge style boots.

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

I finally brought the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I really don't know what has took me so long. With so many amazing reviews on the product I really wanted to try it myself. This is also my first Liz Earle product.

I've just been browsing through my posts from this last year. That's one of the amazing things of blogging, as you can re-cap a certain time. I wanted to put a post together of my favourite beauty items/products from this year. Hopefully this time next year I can do the same - but with outfit posts too (where is my tripod?!).
This year has been pretty amazing. It's been a bit of a roller coaster with my job, (which hopefully I can sort out in the next few weeks). In April I got another dog, Dave. In June, I became a co-owner of a shop and my mum was finally able to do what she has always wanted to - against the odds. Im ready for 2013, and looking forward to everything I can achieve.

New in: Topshop and H&M

Geo Bead Embellished Cami - Topshop £36
I sized up for this top, but from the fit I think I should have sized up again.

Geo Bead Embellished Cami - Topshop £27

Dress - H&M £19.99

iPhone case - H&M £3.99

I some really nice things while I was sale shopping the other day which I haven't yet posted. H&M always have the best clothing collections this time of year, I find. And Topshop was easier to look round as everyone else seemed to be pushing about the sale rails.
I think I might exchange the Topshop Cami for a size larger. I already brought it a size up as I wanted it to fit slightly over sized as it is heavy from all the detailing of the beads. Although, as soon as I got it out the bag beads were already falling off. I'm going to keep hold of it and decide.
I love the print of the phone case. I have been with the same phone case (melting ice cream) foe a while now and I saw this in H&M for only £3.99. The bunny ears were an impulse buy. I'm sure I will find some use out of them.

New in: Newlook wedge boot

I've been wanting to purchase these boots from Newlook but since going back to my local store to purchase them they have only had size 6's which my big feet will not squeeze into. Whilst having a look for them I saw these wedge style boots. They were half price from £24.99. Since my last boots I purchased from Newlook, with the glitter back I have been looking for some more heeled boots. The wedge heel make these so easy to walk in and I know they will quickly become one of my wardrobe staples.

My desk space

I'm finally happy with my desk space. I try to keep to a theme. I love white walls (and if you have been to my house you would pick that up pretty easy). I wanted my desk to reflect myself and be somewhere I love to be, as I do spend a lot of time on the Internet. I did this by keeping my favourite magazines in a stack for my lamp and adding candles and tea light holders. The bunny night light is too cute not to have there. We stock them in the shop and they have been a favourite and sell out so quick. I want to grow a collection - but that would be a little crazy.
I store some jewellery making supplies in the little plastic boxes behind the frame - which are from ikea. I'm planning on expanding that so I can fit everything into different sections. I'm trying to find space for my bunny hook so I can hang jewellery chain from. I have a little wall space to the side of my desk at the door. Think it would go perfectly.

Sale shopping

Christmas has flown by much faster than I had expected, although I still have time to rest and catch up with things. The shop is going to be very quiet for the next few weeks (as expected), so I can really knuckle down with the website and have plenty of time to blog.
I'm not usually one to hit the sales. But this year I thought I would. We always have a family get together on Boxing day, so I went to Meadow Hall yesterday. And it was busy! I've never been when it has been so busy. The queue in Primark was a bit ridiculous. I would have expected it in Topshop/River Island as they have sale rails everywhere. But I didn't give up and came home with some pretty nice stuff - even if many of the stuff wasn't madly reduced or reduced at all. My favourite shops for sale purchases were Topshop and Boots. Zara's sale was very well laid out compared to other stores, although it was only about £5 off everything and all the good things had obviously gone the day before.
I always think that Newlook have a stash of clothes hidden which they only bring out when it's sale time. My local Newlook turns into rails upon rails of neon, leggings and slippers galore. So I think that's one to have a look online for. Their shoe sales are often amazing though.

In Topshop, I found this really pretty cami top. I can see myself wearing it with a skater skirt and blazer. I love the beaded detail on the straps. It was reduced to £15 and I found the last of my size in between the remaining size 8's.
I didn't actually realise this E-book reader case was in the sale un till I got to the till, but I got a kindle for Christmas and wanted a nice case to keep it in while travelling to and from places. It was only £7 and feels such a nice quality.
Boots have 1/2 price off their 3 for 2 gifts and 1/3 off their perfume sets. I didn't ask for a perfume for Christmas as I was waiting for the sales. I got Stella McCartney which I have been meaning to buy for some time now.
I also picked up a Duo set of Soap and Glory for my bathroom, 1/2 price at £5.
I had a look around Debenhams and they have a really good homeware sale on at the moment. I found this rabbit hook which I want to have in my office to hang jewellery chains.

Anyone find any gems?

My Christmas presents

This christmas was all about spending time with family and indulging in food, but I thought I would show you some presents which I received under my christmas tree. Well, actually they were under my parents.
Firstly, my iMac. I'm in love. I have been following the rumours and gossip about the iMacs since last year. I have owned a Macbook for 4 years now and it has never let me down. It has got me through everything. Before that I used a Mac mini - and I really wanted to get a desktop again. Mainly so that I can detach myself from the internet every once in a while. I found myself watching TV by it, eating by it, and sleeping by it. Luckily on Christmas day I received the new (ridiculously thin) iMac from my boyfriend. I've been busy organising my office and desk space so I will post photos at the weekend.
I got plenty of Lush goodies which have smelt my parents house out since them being there. They are happily back in my bathroom now. I love how strong scented they are. I got all my favourites from the Christmas collection and usuals.
I managed to put a bottle of hairspray in my bag the other week although I'm allergic to the stuff and it leaked everywhere. It did smell quite nice for hairspray (it was the Aussie one for reference) but everything got ruined. I recently got myself a tote bag from Newlook with velvet and studs on but it is so strong scented and everything it touches it lingers so I had to have a new one. Luckily, my sister was no early bird with her Christmas shopping so when my local Newlook get another new tote bag in, she went and got me it. I usually go for the obvious black bag. But, I love this shade of taupe.
I've been going a little bunny mad recently, after getting two this year. I can't wait to the summer so we can have a real go and sorting out their hutches. Their hutch is really long and I want to extend it forwards. Beau and Theodore has grown so much since I posted photos of them. Beau is so much more approachable as well. I also received a bunny necklace and a bunny jelly mould - which I cant wait to use.
I'm going to try and get myself into reading. I am utterly jealous of my mum/sister being able to indulge themselves into books before going to bed. I seem to check my twitter feed before sleeping. My parents got me a kindle and I am just in between purchasing some books. I think I'm going to start my adventure with the series of I heart... New York, LA, London etc. They seem to look like easy reads. The only books I have read recently have been Cheryl Coles, Steve Jobs and Gok Wans Autobiographies. Feel free to suggest me any good easy reads. Would really appreciate it.
I received a new purse from Topshop, which when I ordere on the behalf of my mum - it looked a whole lot smaller. It actually looks like a clutch bag. Not sure if it is or not? - but it has all the usual card slots and zipped compartment. I do carry a lot of crap around in my purse. So it's really the perfect size.
I was looking forward to this Soap and Glory set. It includes all the favourites full size bottles and tubs. I love the scent of Sugar crush. I can't wait to start indulging with it. I got very useful presents these year and I'm so happy with my iMac. It makes everything so much easier. I hope you received everything you wanted and more - and spent it with your loved ones.

Organising my jewellery and makeup with muji drawers

I've been trying to have a real sort out of my makeup and jewellery just recently. My makeup was over spilling in my Muji drawers and I wasn't too keen on how they looked. If something looks messy I prefer it to be well hidden. I brought this Ikea set of drawers a couple of months ago and hadn't had chance to re-arrange everything un till last week. I still have a lot more jewellery to put in them - as you can see I have another tower of drawers still empty.
I use to have a set of drawers for my makeup before, so I already had the inserts and containers to put in them and organise. I also chucked out a lot of makeup. Some makeup which I just didn't get on with and there was a lot of makeup which was still in packaging. I can now see this in the drawers and I have it organised into categories like foundation, cheek colours, eyeshadows etc.
This left my Muji draws empty though, so I decided I would display my jewellery in it. My jewellery is often neglected due to it being stored here, there and everywhere. Now I have somewhere where I can see every piece I have. I just have to find some time to finish organising the rest of it. I might even order the jewellery inserts from muji, but I think I like the whole clear view. What do you think?

Christmas at Gifts & Pieces - 10% off

As I haven't had chance to blog any of my usual things recently, I thought I would show you what I have been up to. The shop is getting busier and busier each week. The night lights are selling out like anything and we have to keep getting them back in stock. For anyone who is asking, we have the bunny and baby bunny night lights back in stock on the website.

Hoepfully after Christmas when everything has calmed down, we are going to update the crafts on the website and also start selling jewellery making supplies. It's always been something I've struggled to find when I've been making jewellery myself. I'm also thinking of starting a blog just for the shop.

Oh, and untill midnight tonight we have 10% off the website with the code 'Xmas2'. Now or a long soak in the bath as I think it's TOWIE and Made in Chelsea tonight. Perfect!

My christmas wishes

I love doing these christmas wishlist posts every year. This year mine is a bit extragrant. I will be a bit more realistic when people ask me what I would like.

1| Apple iMac 27inch - I'm in the need of a desktop. I carry my macbook here, there and everywhere and it has served me very well for the last 4 years, but I would love to give it a rest at home. The new iMacs look stunning!

2| ASOS Moving bunny Chase watch - I saw someone instragram this watch and wanted it ever since. How adorable is it? Anything with bunnies on recently is fine by me.

3| Topshop Grey baby deer fairisle socks - I love socks. My sister laughed at how excited I was to wear socks when summer ended. I can never seem to have enough as they go walkies from inbetween going to the washing machine and out. These are really cute.

4| Mulberry cookie purse - Dreaming a little here. I do need a new purse though. Mulberry is so classic and I hope to purchase one soon.

5| Domino The book of decorating - I've wanted this book for a while now. It all looks really pretty as I flicked through it on Amazon. Would also look perfect with my very small collection of books on my cabinet.

6| Diptyque candle - I can't believe I haven't own one of these yet. I've never even smelt one, but may have to purchase one myself. Would love to try the Baies scent, as I've heard so many nice things about it.

7| Asos bracelet Spike stone bracelet - Basically any jewellery. I just managed to find the perfect resolution of how to store my jewellery.

8| Stella McCartney - Stella Print collection I smelt this when they had released the limited edition floral bottles and now regret not purchasing it as the bottles were beautiful. Not that I'm complaining though as I do love these geometric type bottle design too.

9| Soap and Glory @ Boots - Anything Soap and Glory. I got the splendour last year and loved everything in it.

Happy Cyber Monday: 10% off Gifts & pieces

I've been really busy in the shop recently, as well as the website. Which is because of course it's nearly Christmas. The website is being re-stocked constantly and we have a late night shopping evening on Wednesday's un till Christmas. I thought for being 'Cyber Monday' I would give you a 10% off code. You just need to add the Discount code of: XMAS2 at checkout. We have all the bunny lights back in stock and the homeware has been re-stocked the best we can.

Hope you all have started your Christmas shopping now. I keep putting off wrapping my presents as I think I will forget what I've got everyone.
