My desk space

I'm finally happy with my desk space. I try to keep to a theme. I love white walls (and if you have been to my house you would pick that up pretty easy).

Giveaway

I've just reached 500 GFC Followers this week, so I thought I would do a Giveaway as a little thank you. I was a little un-sure on what to give away...

Stella

I previously mentioned in this post that I purchased 'Stella by Stella McCartney' in a box set in the Boots sale. I've been meaning to get this perfume ever since I smelt it - which I think could possibly be a good few years ago now...

New in: Newlook wedge boots

I've been wanting to purchase these boots from Newlook but since going back to my local store to purchase them they have only had size 6's which my big feet will not squeeze into. Whilst having a look for them I saw these wedge style boots.

Review: Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish

I finally brought the Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish. I really don't know what has took me so long. With so many amazing reviews on the product I really wanted to try it myself. This is also my first Liz Earle product.

Perfume: Ralph Lauren - Romance

Ralph Lauren Romance - Eau de Parfum 50ml
I went to Boots the other month looking for a perfume for my sister as it was her birthday. Whenever I go in with my boyfriend, he always has to smell every aftershave so I thought I would have a look at the women's and came across a perfume I have wanted for a while, Ralph Lauren - Romance. I love how it is a floral sweet smell but with sharp notes of something ginger. I'm not too keen on Rose in a perfume nor Ginger. But I love romance. My boyfriend noticed that the 50ml bottle was on offer for cheaper than the 30ml bottle. Boots always have amazing offers. As I went to pay for my sisters Rihanna perfume (which is surprisingly really nice for a celeb one - i need to buy myself) my boyfriend kindly let me have Romance. The bottle is so pretty and elegant. I've worn it so much since I got it, and it definitely one of my favourite scents.

It is a more grown up scent which I don't have many in my perfume collection. Think the next perfume I want to get is Narciso Rodriguez for her Eau de Parfum.

Wishlist: Living room - Zara home, H&M home & Ikea

I love being able to have a good browse through Ikea's website for homeware. But my favourite is Zara Home. It has so many pretty things which look pretty expensive but I find the prices are reasonable. H&M have very on trend collections. I thought I would put together a post to show you some things I am planning getting for my living room. The display unit from Ikea will fit in perfectly on a blank wall we have. I want to put pretty books on it and glass pieces such as the jars from Zara home. I have a black corner sofa so want to add some neutral cushions as well as some in an accent mink colour. I love the paisley design cushion. I've loved the Ikea Coffee table for such a long time now. When we moved in we brought one of the basic white tables for around £10-15 and it has lasted a year but I've noticed a few chips on the top. Would love a bigger one too.

New in: Newlook peplum zip back top & Glitter heeled boots

links: Newlook peplum top, Newlook glitter boots

Went for a little shop yesterday and got this peplum top. I originally got a Burgundy one a month ago which I had to take back as it was way too short. I was pleased to see this in Newlook yesterday as it looked a reasonably longer length. I love the print. It's not quite leopard print but it's something print. Think I will go with just animal print. I'ts a near black and white with a detailed zip running through the back. I wore this last night to the cinema (went to see paranormal activity 4 - worse decision ever) with jeans, a leather jacket and my new boots which I also brought from Newlook. They were only £24.99 and are the most comfy boots I own. Even more than my Chelsea boots. There's just something with the chunky heel which make them feel all snuggly. I did originally want some heeled boots with studs at the back but I have so many clothing piece with studs on that it could look a bit over done. The glitter isn't your typical glitter either, it's the chunky type which doesn't budge and rub off on everything it comes in contact with.

New in: Dorothy Perkins Handbags and Necklaces

Popped out from the shop yesterday afternoon to have a walk round my town and went into Dorothy Perkins. I remembered that I wanted the double heart necklace as I loved how dainty it looked and I was after one to wear everyday. The star necklace was reduced to £2 so me and my sister picked up matching. I love my chunky jewellery but recently I have liked really pretty plain jewellery instead.
I'm use to carrying around a bulky handbag, so when I saw this faux suede handbag reduced to just £7, I had to have it. I love the tassel and the gold lining.
I've seen the glitter fold over clutch for a while now and was meaning to pick it up. Don't you love it when something you have wanted for a while gets reduced?! At £3, I had to get it. I love the accessories in Dorothy Perkins.

I'm all snuggled up on my sofa at the moment. Been a really dull week at the shop. Sales have been pretty bad. Hopefully it is everyone saving ready for Christmas shopping. Fingers crossed!!

Nails: Models Own Wonderland polish in Snowflakes

Models Own Wonderland polish in Snowflakes £5

As soon as I saw the press releases for the new Models Own Wonderland collection I knew I would love it. It's full of glitter. I wear glitter polish throughout the year but in the Autumn/Winter I wear it everyday. I popped into Boots yesterday as I needed some powder foundation and couldn't miss picking this up. It looks so pretty in the bottle. I tried to capture what i looks like by holding it up to the light, but it is really different to any glitter polish I have. Well it's not glitter it is metallic transparent flakes. I've paired it with Essie Fiji and love it. As Boots had 3 for 2 I decided to get another from the collection which was Southern lights. My sister painted her nails with it today and it goes completely opaque. Will post pictures in the week of it.

Next winter wardrobe competition looks

I love doing these type of contests where you have to style outfits from a certain brand. I saw Amy's post from Amy Antoinette about a contest she is running with Next to win a £500 gift card, so thought I'd give it a go. Clicking on the next website (which I admit I don't do often) I was surprised at how many on trend items they had. I've found a few things which I want to purchase myself. I was originally going to do a day, work and evening look but changed to do a day and two evenings. I don't know about you, but for evenings I tend to feel like wearing jeans with heels or a skirt/dress. So I decided to do two evening looks. I've also sketched some ideas of makeup looks which I would pair with them.

For my daytime look I first found the coated jeans. I've been looking for some for a while and paired them with a khaki studded jumper. The military trend is all over the high street at the moment and will probably continue all season. The boots are my favourite. I'm really loving the heeled ankle boots and these are a bit different to your typical black ones and the glitter! - love the glitter. The tote bag is perfect for everyday as I always carry around half my bedroom and bathroom and this ones looks pretty spacious.
For makeup, I wanted to do a berry lip. I've always worn nude pink lips but have been a bit braver recently with more deeper shades, even in the daytime. I've kept eye makeup to a minimum though.

I wanted to put together a outfit which can be easy to accessorise and I wanted to use the coated jeans again. I love the shade of the blouse and thought it would look perfect with some rose gold jewellery. I found a chunky watch and some glittery bangles which fit that. The necklace is really delicate looking and perfectly ties everything together.
I've not been one for a kitten heel but the studded courts are stunning! I've seen a few similar on the highstreet recently, so need to get myself some.
For makeup I went for a nude lip and Rosy cheeks.

I love metallics and they are back in season this autumn/winter. I was surprised to find this skirt but thought I could put together a really simple look. I added the cream tiered top which could either be tucked in or left long. The bag looks more expensive than it is at only £22.
But the shoes... I love the back of them. They look very classic and stops the outfit looking bland. Again I paired it with the rose gold watch but added some earrings and didn't add a necklace - thought it would look a bit OTT with anything else.
I wanted deep red lips for this outfit and smokey eyes, and plenty of bronzer to add some colour.

Hopefully the sketches don't scare you. I was pretty surpised how I could make my drawings look half ok when imported into photoshop.

What do you think, anything take your fancy?

One dramatic night... and luckily no poisoned pets

Been a little bit of a strange day today. I went to my parents for dinner last night and came home to find my 8 month old puppy had opened the downstairs bathroom door, dragging everything out including chewing up a  full bottle of bathroom cleaner and near empty bottle of bleach. Rang up a 24 hours vet as it was 11pm but luckily didn't have to take him/both of my dogs in. Had to sleep downstairs all night while I kept poking them to check they were ok. Didn't help that my Bichon, Toby didn't keep his dinner down and Dave was making strange noises. So I've spent the day paranoid over whether both dogs are ok. Would probably be better to take them to Vets to re-assure me but they don't have any signs of poisoning so they said not to. It doesn't help that my puppy, Dave is so strange in his behaviour all the time, but they are now both happily sleeping (and snoring away). May be down to myself keeping them up all night - but now I am completely shattered.
I've just had the most indulgent baths with every mask, hair treatment I could find. I can now settle down to Cheryl's new autobiography- which I love already.
I've managed to apply for another two jobs today. The feeling of not being paid for 7 weeks is not great. There goes all the christmas shopping I had planned. Onwards and upwards though...

Everyday makeup favourites

PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketI thought I would show you some makeup products which I have been using daily. I have been working from home the last couple of weeks so haven't had to rush to do my makeup. Some days I have only put some mascara and tinted moisturiser on - but I always find when I do my makeup it instantly wakens me up and puts me in a brighter mood.

A new find, is the L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation. I brought this on whim about a month ago now and find it to be very much like Revlon photo ready but it is much lighter in texture. It keeps my face moisturised throughout the day and really does brighten your skin up. Normally foundation dries up on my skin in about 5 hours but I found this stays put giving the dewy finish. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone which oily skin as I'm sure it would literally slide off, but perfect for anyone trying to give your skin a much needed glow.

The Rimmel scandal eyes kohl waterproof eyeliner is perfect for the waterline. I have one in the shade nude and it is perfect instead of using a harsh white liner to brighten the eyes. I really want to get another in the shape 'taupe' now as they are so easy to blend and stay put for ages.

The perfume is Ralph Lauren romance. I'm in love with this fragrance. It instantly makes me feel made up.

My all time favourite eyeshadow is jest from mac. This is the only mac eyeshadow I have out of my pan. It's easier to have it as a single as it is a basic in my makeup bag. It don't often go for a shade of pink on the lid but it has the most perfect glistens of gold running through it giving your lid depth without the hassle of contouring.

Image 01- L'Oreal Lumi Magique Foundation - Boots/Superdrug RRP £10.99, Rimmel Scandaleyes Kohl Waterproof Eyeliner in Nude, Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealer in shade 02, MUA Professional Eye primer, L'Oreal False Lash Telescopic Mascara, 17 Eyebrow shaper, Revlon Colour burst lipgloss in Crystal Lilac, L'Oreal Super liner in Carbon Gloss. MAC Eyeshadow in Jest, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Natural in Light, Illamasque cream blush in Promise, Ralph Lauren Romance EDT, Sleek Contour kit in light, Benefit High Beam, L'Oreal lip Caresse lipstick in shade 01.

Review: Origins Drink up - Intensive Overnight mask

This is the first origins product I have tried. I have very dry skin. It affects how my foundation looks and I have dry patches around my eyes and nose, so I am always looking for a product to help that. Even oily skin can be dyhydrated though so it would suit many skin types I'm sure.

I brought this with some of my Boots Advantage points online and got it delivered into the store. It's RRP price is £20.00 and for a 100ml product that is pretty good. I've only used it a few times so far, and I don't usually blog about something I haven't used for a while but I have fallen in love with it.

It's scent is a real fruity peachey watermelon like scent. The scent also reminds me of flavour of Hubba Bubba chewing gum which I brought when I was a kid. The product texture itself is a really thick cream. I apply it before going to bed as directed. You would think this would rub off on your pillow, but it doesn't. It immediately sinks into the top layer of your skin leaving your skin a bit tacky and then it dries. In the morning your skin has literally soaked it all up. Your skin is left feeling glowy, plump and moisturised. This is definitely my favourite skin care product and would reccomend it to anyone who is suffering which dyhydrated skin.

Statement berry lips

Been having a bit of a strange week, this week. Have to work from home as I haven't been paid. Won't be un till next week now (2 weeks over due) so my bank account is a little bit of a mess. I've been searching and searching for a job and finally found a few suitable ones. One which I really want but don't know if it is out of my depth. Fingers crossed!
To cheer myself up I've been searching through my makeup trying to put myself in a better mood. I have a few stila lipsticks which I have collected from TK Maxx and came across this berry colour. Since seeing Cheryl on the X Factor the other week I have been experimented with my more deeper lip shades. This shade is a more pinker berry though. Looks deepers in real life. Also, looks a little strange in the photo as it was raining and the light has washed me out. My skin does not look that clear in real life - I wish! Think I'm going to get myself the exact shade Cheryl was wearing from L'Oreal as I loved it so much. For the rest of the night I am going to tidy through my makeup. Really need to get rid of some which I will never use and maybe change my storage around.
Hope everyone is having a lovely week. Not long till the weekend, now!

Review: Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Cleanser - £8.99 236ml Boots

I've seen and heard many good things about this cleanser. Originally I couldn't find it anywhere but it is much more accessible now it is stocked in places like Boots and Asda. What made me want to try this was that it is formulated for sensitive and dry skin. I often get break outs from certain products and then don't dare put anything else on my face so hoped this would solved the problem. The constituency is light, but not too light. It reminds me of a gel type cleanser but slightly creamier. I apply this to take my makeup off with a muslin cloth and warm water and then I sometimes repeat to make sure my face is completely clean. It leaves your skin feeling so soft and clears any irritated skin. I've really noticed a difference with my skin since using this. It also doesn't dry it out which is what I always look for in a cleanser as alot can be quite harsh. At night I find my moisturiser sinks in much easier so I don't go to bed looking like a greasy mess.
I would really recommend this cleanser if you are like me with sensitive and dry skin. It basically does everything it says on the bottle. This is definitely going to be a staple in my skin care routine. Even when I buy other products to try I know I can go back to this to balance it out.

Review: L'Oreal Lip Caresse Sheer lipsticks

It seems like ages since I've blogged about a beauty item. But this lipstick has been well loved for a while now. With all the hype (well deserved) around the Revlon Lip Butters I wasn't interested when L'Oreal released their Caresse Sheer lipsticks. Just wondering through Superdrug one day I thought I would go and have a swatch. I picked up this one in Fashionista pink. It is a very sheer baby pink. What made me buy it though, was the texture. I have no other lip product which feels like this one. As it is sheer it is the perfect moisturising lip balm with a prettiest hint of colour. Compared to the Revlon lip butters these feel so much lighter on the lips and surprisingly stay on pretty well. Obviously it isn't going to stay on your lips all day, but I was surprised how long it does stay on. As it wears off your lips it loosed the sheen and leaves you with the tint of the colour. I really like it for a alternative to lip glosses which just irritate me.
Another thing I love with this lipstick is the packaging. It gives a very YSL Rouge Volupte kind of feel to it. The lipsticks retail for £7.99 and are often on 3 for 2. I think I am going to have a look at the other shades next time I go shopping.

Instagram feed: Hi October

I planned to do a post about some things I have been loving recently but after taking the photos I can;t find my usb wire. It's probably at my parents or at the shop so it i will have to wait till tomorrow. I've decided to show some photos from my instagram feed instead.  Some people don't like these types of posts and see them as a filler but I love having a nosey at what everyone has been taking photos of.
1. Fifa 13. I'm sure a lot of you have dreaded it too. We only have one tele in our house (well plugged in) as if me and my boyfriend want to watch separate things we use the macbook. Now I've got to look forward to this blaring out my TV in the living room.
2. My new wardrobe. I thought I was getting over the whole shabby chic style but I am in love with this. My boyfriends nan was having a clear out and it would look perfect in my spare room once it is finished.
3. Christmas is nearly here! Now I have a shop I see why retailers have to get the Christmas stuff out as soon as possible. We've sold lots already and need to stock up. It's my favourite time of the year. It couldn't come quick enough. I've even started Christmas shopping. All organised, me ;)
4. Not having to set an alarm last Friday. I had an un-expected day off on Friday. Usually when I take a day off I have something organised as I don't want to waste it working 7 days a week now. But I had a lay in and smooched around my house all day.
5. Me and my sister after playing Badminton. I'm really trying to get more active so we want to play badminton last week and going again this week. I think we laughed more than we moved though. We played doubles against my boyfriend and his friend. My first serve had us both crying as my boyfriends friend managed to trip over his own feet and the shuttlecock hit him the eye!! - Bless him.
6. A few products brought from Boots. I've really enjoyed using the cetaphil and will put a review up soon.

7. Just me.
8. Some soap in the shop. Have some designed inspired scents now including Jo Malone Wild fig & Cassis, Calvin Klein, Ghost to name a few. My favourite is the batternburg.
9. The Naked 2 Palette. I am loving this even more every time I use it. The matt black is perfect to set my eyeliner and smoke it out for a natural look.
10 & 12. Beau being so cute. He looks like a micro pig at times. Really want to get Beau and Theodore harnesses and leads, but my boyfriend thinks that's a big over the top. Thoughts?
11. A cheeky dominoes a couple of weeks ago. I can never finish them. Good job as I am eating pretty healthy recently. Even managed to lose some weight!
