Review: Clinique High Impact Mascara

So as most people know Glamour magazine is offering free clinique samples in this months magazine for their 10th Birthday Special. I picked up a few to see what the products are like as I've never purchased a Clinique product. I've been using the High Impact Mascara.

I thought this was the perfect chance to try out the mascara. The sample was for 4g. For that I can really find out if I love it or hate it.  The full size product retails for £15 for 8g, so I'm getting about £7.50 worth of product for £2 and a glamour magazine which is pretty much a bargain!

So I'm a brunette and my eyelashes are literally black. I've never had trouble with getting my eyes to look dark. I'm always looking for mascaras to create volume or length. I don't have to put layers and layers of mascara to create the look I want. I've been looking for a mascara which gives volume as well as length and I can't seem to find a mascara which does both without looking clumpy. As much as I love the Rimmel Lash Accelerator and Collection 2000's Big Fake Mascara, I find that one mascara gives me length and the other gives me volume. I want something which meets them in the middle, giving me the best of both worlds.

Firstly, the mascara looks very sleek. I like how it doesn't look tacky and isn't in your face. I applied a coat on my eyelashes (as you can see below) and I love the effect it gives.

It feels like it condition's your eyes. It goes on very smoothly and isn't too wet nor too dry. I've also found the product really easily to remove. Other mascaras smear around my face while this one easily comes off without alot of effort.

I'm going to definitely be picking this up once my sample has run out. It's a great alternative for a natural yet dramatic way of making my eyes look more open without them clumping together. I also don't get any fall out of the product throughout the day which is definitely a plus!
